A damn good mindset

The Mindset of Doing Good: Sadio Mane’s Mission to help his fellow man

The world-famous soccer player “Sadio Mane of Senegal” (10-4-1992) is not only famous for his soccer skills. Perhaps he is even more famous for what he does for his fellow man.

With an income of nearly $200,000 a week, he has not forgotten his origins. When he was seen several times with a smartphone whose screen was broken, he was asked by a journalist why he didn’t have it repaired or buy a new one.

He replied, “I could buy a thousand of them. In addition, I could buy 10 Ferraris’, 2 jet planes, and ten watches with diamonds. But why should I? I saw poverty, I could not learn, and I had no shoes, no food, and no good clothes. Now I have so much money, I want to share it with people instead of showing off all the things I can buy.”

Mané has the mindset to do good

Mané allegedly donated more than half a million dollars to help build a public hospital in his hometown of Bambali, Senegal. He also had a school built for a similar amount and provided students with laptops. He even offered a $400 reward for the best student of the year.

When Senegal was hit by floods, Mané was again one of the first to step up to the plate and these are just the donations that made it to the media. Mané is someone who does not deny his origins and has the mindset to do good.

This short documentary shines a light on his background and motivation.
